IN THE GREEN CAST ALBUM PRE-ORDER

Hello.

This is ostensibly an email about an album I made a year ago with a bunch of amazing people who helped me make a show about two women who lived 900 years ago but who went through some things I think we can all relate to, namely being locked away from their world and having to contend with their own darkness.  I'm deeply proud of the work we did on this show and on this album and I'm truly excited to share it with you.

But also, I want to acknowledge that there are a LOT MORE important things going on in the world than this show and this music.  I imagine you've got those things on your mind.  I imagine you've got things like livelihood and relationships and food and home and people you don't even know and phone calls and texts and money and the postal service and matching signatures and literally life and death on your mind. I imagine you've got more questions than answers. And I imagine you're working hard to interrogate those questions and the answers too and I imagine you're working hard to take care of yourself and the people you love.

I want to acknowledge that I feel weird talking about myself and a thing I made right now.  

I want to acknowledge that I do feel grateful for the people I made it with because they made it better.  

The people we are in community with make us better.

Let's make each other better. That's the important work.

...and if you are the kind to whistle while you work, this music might be worth whistling to.
