HAPPY//MERRY

How is it December?

Wowsie, there's a lot to celebrate and mourn as this year dies, and I am grateful to be able to do both with my families, by blood and by choice.

I had the distinct and wild pleasure of attending The American Igenuity Awards in D.C. this week, to see Dave Malloy and Rachel Chavkin be honored in the category of History from The Smithsonian.  It was a truly special day to be reunited with some of my Great Comet cast as we sang and cried and laughed and cheered for our fearless leaders.

Speaking of Comet memories, remember that time we sang some of our original tunes with The Songwriter's Orchestra at (le) Poisson Rouge?  No?  Here's a video of Everybody Loves to jog your noggin and jostle your nether regions.

IN OTHER NEWS...

That's What She Said: Podcast
I had a very fun, very vulnerable, very giggly, very scary time talking with my friend Therese Barbato for her amazing podcast about women who love.  Check out what she's doing here and get ready for season 3 on December 20!

SPACE on Ryder Farm: 2018 Season Fundraiser
If we've ever talked about writing or residencies or nature or campfires or amazing food or amazing people or ghost stories or games or that amazing thing that happens when you get out of the city and time slows down, then you know how much I love SPACE on Ryder Farm.  I've seen this amazing artist's retreat in Brewster, New York grow for the past 8 years and I can't wait to see what they are able to provide for artists next.  Any little teensy weensy bit you can give to this organization is well worth it - consider making a tax deductible donation to SPACE and be a part of the incredible community of artist and activists working to impact this cultural moment.

Net Neutrality
It's not too late to protest.  The dismantling of net neutrality regulations will be harmful in many ways, including for young musicians trying to have a career in music.  Please consider using this very simple guide to share your thoughts with the FCC.

That's all for now, folks.  Happy Holidays, and I'll see you in the New Year!

You don't know how lucky you are,
Grace

PS I'm going to Russia with the State Department in February!
